Medical Education Department in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine has been established in 2004.
One of the first Medical Education Departments in Turkey. The first head of our department is Professor Sedef Tunaoğlu and she maintained it between 2004-2008.
Since Council of Higher Education closed Medical Education Departments in medical faculties in January 2009 and transferred them to Graduate Schools of Health Sciences, our department were closed.
The department reopened in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in August 2009. Professor İlhan Yetkin were head of the department between 2009-2011. In 2015, our department were united with Medical Informatics Department and became Medical Education and Informatics Department.
There are 4 faculty members in Department of Medical Education and Informatics.
