“The Effects of Electromagnetic Fields on Biologic Systems” is studied in the two research subdivision laboratories (BIOELECTROMAGNETIC and TISSUE ANALYSIS LABORATORY) of the  Department of Biophysics.

The biological effects of electrical and magnetic fields are studied in the Bio electromagnetic laboratory while protein synthesis analysis is performed in the Tissue Analysis Laboratory using two different methods.

Here are the studies performed in both laboratories :

  • Acceleration of the healing of dermatological wounds via Low Intensity Direct Current (LIDC)

  • Assay of hydroxyprolin quantity in the skin: Woessner Method

  • Magnetic Field (B) applications on Biologic Systems

  • Electrical (E) field applications to Biological Systems

  • Assay of hydroxyprolin quantity in the tissue: Stegemann-Stalder Method

  • Dosimetry

  • Electro Magnetic (EM) Pollution: Biological Effects

  • Non-ionizing radiation standards (ICNIRP, IEEE, FCC, Cenelec, Turkey / TK-Telecommunication Institution Italy, Canada and China)

  • ELF E and B fields and their biological effects

  • RF/MW fields’ biological effects: Effects of blood brain barrier

  • EM radiation measurement methods
