History

Our faculty was a part of Ankara School of Financial and Commercial Sciences; and our department was founded under the Internal Medicine Sciences by our finding academic members Prof. Dr. Övsev Dörtlemez and Prof. Dr. Halis Dörtlemez in 1979. After our university was renamed “Gazi University” in 1982, it continued it’s status and separated from Internal Medicine Sciences and became an independent department in 1990 after the related decision of the Higher Education Council (YÖK).
