Purposes and Objectives of Education

Respectful colleagues of mine,

As known, science of medicine has been progressing fast. All technological data and experiences are transferred to the science of medicine continiously and these are integrated into the field of implementation. In a way, our occupation has been progressing as if it has been absorbing the data and the technology that all departments of science have. For this reason, the profession of doctor has both been improving and also is transferred to subbranches and specific fields as well. Today, all of us are aware of this obligation  and continue living and implementing by feeling this awareness. We have been facing with various information from various sources and it gets difficult to follow them. Too much information and the difficulties of working conditions causes less time for the doctors to renew and improve themselves. The objective of foundation of the faculties of medicine can be summarized as; to graduate doctors first of all, to do research in different fields,providing specialist education, and serving our country in the field of health. Our Gazi University Faculty of Medicine  has been performing these objectives and duties for 29 years taking year 1979 as basis with an increasing joy and progress. Today our faculty of medicine has become a referance hospital with priority. We alla re proud of this. Our otorhinolaryngology department has become a department which works with an increasing joy since the same date. Since its establishment, with the limited oppurtunities, it has drawn an increasing graph in health services.In our academic staff which had started with two lecturers, 26 doctors have been working now as lecturers and research assistants in all disciplines of our department. Today, all otologic, neurotologic and head surgeries, all rinologic, aesthetic, endoscopic surgeries and detailed surgeries on head, neck and throat illnesses are being implemented successfully.

Our department has been arranging conferences, seminars, courses, visual and live surgeries and education programs since 1990 in various subjects for practitioner and specialist colleagues of us both from our university and the other institutions. Our department has been carrying out education and research practises in all fields increasingly every year and trying to perform the best in social services as well.
