History

With the establishment of Gazi University in 1982, Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Division started up with the founder Dean of the division Prof. Dr. Namık KEMAL Baran. In 1983, Associate Prof. Dr. was assigned to the division. The same year Dr. Seyhan ÇENETOĞLU was assigned to our clinic and Dr. Nurhan ÖZBABA was assigned through an exam, as the first staff to be assigned through an exam, and they started up their career as assistants. The clinic did not have its own bed till 1986 and the patients were settled to General Surgery and Dermatology services for treatment. In this period, The Faculty was in Balgat, Traffic Hospital. In 1986 Dr. Seyhan ÇENETOĞLU graduated as the first specialist of the division. The same year Dr. Osman LATİFOĞLU and Dr. Mustafa AYDOĞDU started up as Research Assistants and continued to work in the hospital in Beşevler within the acute inpatient ward. In 1988 Dr. Seyhan ÇENETOĞLU was assigned as Associate Dr. And 1989 Dr. Kenan ATABAY was assigned as Assistant Professor Dr. In 1993, Dr. Osman LATİFOĞLU was assigned as  lecturer. Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery division moved to its new location with 26 beds in 1997 on the fourteenth floor. In 1999 Dr. C. Reha YAVUZER and in year 2000, Dr. M. Sühan AYHAN were assigned as lecturers. In year 2004, Dr. Selahattin ÖZMEN was assigned as Associted Professor Doctor. In 2004, Dr. Reha YAVUZER and Dr. Sühan AYHAN were assigned as Associate Professor Doctors. In 2006 Dr. Serhan TUNCER was assined as lecturer. In 2007 Dr. Selahattin ÖZMEN was assigned as Associate Professor and Dr. Serhan TUNCER was assigned as Assistant Professor Doctor. In 2010, Dr. Reha YAVUZER and Dr. Sühan AYHAN were assigned as Professors. In 2010, Dr. C. Reha YAVUZER left his position in the division.

Our hand surgery division was established within our division. And the founder of the division is Dr. Osman LATİFOĞLU is the firs head of the division. In 2007, Dr. Sühan AYHAN became the second head of the division.

Prof. Dr. Namık Kemal BARAN got retired in 1998 and Professor Dr. Cemalettin ÇELEBİ became the head of the division and continued his position till 2004. Between 2004-2006 Professor Dr. Kenan ATABAY became the head of the division. Dr. Osman LATİFOĞLU became the head of the division in 2006 and he has been the head of the division since then. In our division there have been 12 research assistants and 8 lecturers. The ones who completed their education and assigned as Specialist Doctors are as follows chronologically.
