Our department works actively in the processes of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education as well as Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

A – Undergraduate Medical Education

First in Turkey | Clerkship of Medicine and Leadership

All around the world, leadership skills of physicians and leadership programs in medical faculties are hot topics because leadership is essential for physicians. In the last years, leadership have become one of the standards which are required by national and international accreditation councils.

As an elective clerkship, Medicine and Leadership was presented to our Year 5 students in 2012 and it is the first in Turkey.

The students who take this clerkship can find an opportunity to improve themselves in the following topics;

• Leadership
• Crisis Management
• Teamwork

Our students visit leader institutions including Ministry of Health, Turkish Grand National Assembly, World Health Organization, Social Security Institution. They participate actively in various activities and therefore they have a chance being aware of the important role of these institutions. Also they visit a private hospital and understand how different actors work in health sector.
